Miyoshi Umeki (梅木美代志) Anderson or as others know her, Miyoshi  (ウキ)  "the one name wonder" embodies the East Asian interpretation of her name meaning, beautiful and good. Miyoshi has embraced her unique name with pride, honor and the mystery it bestows.  As a dancer to model, this Pennsylvania native has graced many stages throughout the  United States; with long balletic strides on the 'Cat Walk' and in a variety of vocal presentations, showcasing her amazing speaking ability and beautiful tone.  

A graduate of Pittsburgh's Creative And Performing Arts High, where she honed her technique as a dancer, Miyoshi then attended  Point Park College furthering her dance aspirations.  Seeking opportunity, her strong will and perseverance moved her on to New York and then to St. Thomas, Virgin Island where often thrust in front of the camera, Miyoshi seamlessly crossed into facets of acting.  Upon returning to New York, with valuable experience and a blossoming career, Miyoshi was an unfortunate victim of a severe pedestrian accident.  Requiring four surgeries, physical therapy and the need to utilize a walking cane, she had initially accepted the possibility of never dancing again.  Several years passed, after which, her doctor challenged her with the idea of becoming a model. Though Miyoshi initially doubted the possibilities, she took on the challenge and today stands as one of Pittsburgh's 'Top Models'.
